1:30pm “Body Movements”:

Workshop Focus:
This workshop is designed to help students explore the fundamentals of Latin body awareness, control, and expression. Through guided exercises, you’ll learn how to use your body more fluidly, improve coordination, and connect movement with latin rhythm.

What You’ll Learn:

  • Isolation & Coordination: Breaking down movements in shoulders, chest, hips, and arms.
  • Fluidity & Transitions: How to flow smoothly between different body parts.
  • Musicality: Matching body movements to beats, melodies, and accents.
  • Expression & Style: Using posture, gestures, and body language to add personality to your movement.
  • Partner & Solo Application: Techniques that can be applied both in social dance and individual practice.

2:30pm: AfroMambo Techniques

About the Workshop:
Afro Mambo is a powerful fusion of Afro-Caribbean body movement and classic mambo footwork. This workshop will guide you through the roots, rhythms, and flow of Afro-inspired movements, and how to blend them seamlessly into your mambo dancing.

What You’ll Learn:

Afro Foundations: Body isolations, polyrhythms, and grounded Afro movement techniques.

Mambo Footwork: Classic shines and rhythm drills to sharpen your timing.

Fusion: How to layer Afro body movement over mambo steps for a dynamic style.

Musicality: Understanding percussion and clave to move with authenticity.

Expression: Developing your own flair through Afro-Latin energy.

3:30pm: Salsa Madness

Get ready to turn up the energy! Salsa Madness is a high-energy workshop that pushes your salsa skills to the next level with dynamic shines, explosive afromambo movements, and playful musicality. This session is all about breaking limits, boosting confidence, and having fun while challenging your body and rhythm. It combines everything you learned in previous workshops and more.
